Race for Education

2019 Race for Education was a HUGE success!
On behalf of the Adamstown PTO, thank you to everyone for a truly successful Race for Education! Students were asked to fill out address labels for friends, family members, and neighbors whom they would like to ask to sponsor them. As a result of the hard work of parents and students, over 3000 letters were mailed all across the world —including 2 to Australia! The support of family, friends, and neighbors was overwhelming, and $17,796.00 was raised.

Thank you to the following businesses who were instrumental in the fundraising effort: Adamstown YMCA, Adamstown Eye Care, JSL Mechanical, Lloyd S. Fasnacht Garage, Pinnacle Strength and Fitness, Giovanni’s, Zia Maria’s, Hair’s What’s Happening, Real Life Community Services, Monyer Electric, Cocalico Community Church, Stoner Industrial, Fisher’s Garage, Creekside Dental, KD Body Shop, Stubbs Insurance, WNB Flooring, Martarano Engineering, Eagle Rental, Grocery Outlet, Unruh Insurance, Bachman’s Roofing, and other businesses from as far as New York to Maine and South Carolina to all over Pennsylvania!

The two classes who brought in the most labels won a free afternoon party at the Adamstown YMCA for the students and their families. Classroom winners were: Mrs. DiMatteo’s 1st grade class and Mrs. Shahade’s 4th grade class. Other classes earned prizes such as extra recess, lunch with Officer Fisher, milk and cookies with their class, and a day to bring their stuffed animals or wear hats to school.

Thank you to everyone in the Cocalico community for inspiring and supporting learning for every child, every chance, every day.
